Your guide for Paris Elopement Photos

"Breath Paris in, it nourishes the soul."

Victor Hugo

We think you would agree with us that nothing really compares to Paris for your elopement wedding. Imagine getting away into the city fulled of beautiful architecture, delicious French food, luxury art-de-vivre, even the atmosphere here makes Paris so magical. Ready for a dreamy and romantic elopement wedding in Paris, the capital of love and fashion?

What is elopement? Should I consider an elopement in Paris?

If you are not familiar with the concept of an elopement wedding, it is where the bride and groom will take a “sweet” escape from where they live to get married somewhere else. It is an intimate, small wedding, that focuses on your experience, on who you are as a couple.

Elopement is an option for couples who don’t feel like the traditional wedding is the right fit for them. And it’s okay. Truth be told, the reason you want to get married with just the 2 of you is probably to avoid all the hassles from tough decisions regarding planning a traditional big wedding; from all the family dramas, finalizing the invitation list to picking a venue that would satisfy everyone. These ‘to-do lists’ might give you lots of headache and unintentionally make the wedding become a stressful task (when it is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life).

That is why there is an alternative for experiences that are a bit more extra and adventurous: doing an elopement. Love is ALL you need, and it could be just with the two of you or with the presence of your closest family members and friends for an intimate wedding. Elopement is about YOU, it’s about freedom, showing your styles, and being truly yourself. So what are the perks of it? You won’t need to please anyone except yourselves. There won’t be an unnecessarily high budget for a traditional wedding (you can spend that on your honeymoon instead!). After all, you deserve to do whatever your hearts desire. You could focus more on the attention to details, or intimate moments that with big weddings, it might not be possible.

Quite a few of our clients have their Paris elopements first and then have a reception for their friends and family members back home. For our Asian clients, since most of them will have a huge wedding back in Asia, some have taken the opportunity of doing their pre-wedding shoots as an elopement, so they could focus truly focus on them, on their experience and exchange their vows with more intimacy.

How does a Paris elopement day look like?

This will depend on YOU, there’s really no rules. We can spend your elopement day doing what feels most authentic and true to who you are as a couple. Here is an example of a Paris elopement timeline: it would typically start off with the preparation photos of you getting ready. Detail photos (wedding attire, shoes, accessories, stationery, etc.) are important for us as well as they also tell a story about who you are as a couple. Then, there will be a first look moment; however, it is not compulsory. After that, we would arrive at the ceremony spot of your choice. The ceremony could be held by an officiant or it could simply be just the two of you exchanging vows. It is then followed by a photo session in various locations around the city. We’ll help you find suitable places according to your preferences. A few of our couples also opt for the possibility of having decoration, a wedding cake, some champagne or a romantic dinner/lunch set up to celebrate their special day.

Is it legal to get married in France?

If you do not live in France for a period of time, unfortunately, it is not possible to get married legally here. However, most of our couples have their civil ceremony in their home country before or after and then have their elopement as a symbolic ceremony.

Location recommendations?

We will always be here to help with the locations that you’ll like and love, especially those hidden ones (this is our little secret, ‘cuz we all want our wedding to be somewhat unique right). The city is filled with both popular places and hidden gems to make your photos look stunning. You can check out the top 10 locations for the Paris photos!
