Our blog post today is dedicated to you guys, who are searching for the perfect photo locations in Paris. Be it for your engagement photos, wedding, or even for your elopement, the truth is that you can find Parisian vibes in every corner of the city, yet each location is channeled with an original and unexplainably alluring beauty.
As wedding photographers, we understand that not living in Paris might give you a hard time choosing the ideal locations since a lot of our clients ask us for our recommendations for shooting spots. After booking your photoshoot with us, you’ll have access to our Exclusive locations suggestions guide. We will spend time to discuss, to get to know each other so that we could advise for a more personalized itinerary for you. We’ll be there to guide you!
Here’s a glimpse of our favourite Paris locations:
1. The iconic Eiffel tower:
What is the first thing that comes up when you think of Paris? Most people will reply with “Eiffel Tower” like a natural instinct. However, we’d imagine that you have probably saw the Eiffel surrounded by many people during the day. We totally understand the concern and are here to help you with that!
The most famous spot would be Trocadéro Square, where the stunning view will surely get you astonished. The best time for the perfect engagement or wedding photos is early in the morning, at sunrise. Or if you fancy a stroll along The Seine, just like living in a retro French movie; we know the hidden spots with views as dreamy as Paris is. Just keep walking straight towards the Eiffel from Trocadero, you’ll have a staircase to take you down to the Seine riverbank. Definitely check out T&K pre-wedding photos as we explore more in detail about Trocadero.
Plus, the Bir-Hakeim Bridge is among the must-go Paris locations if you have watched the famous “film” Inception, be it for photo or just simply admiring the view. A little tip from us: Take the metro line 6 from Passy to Bir-Hakeim and capture the iconic window view with the Iron Lady.
Based on our experience, we also know hidden corners such as romantic streets with Eiffel in the background or picturesque rooftops. For example, here is a sneak peek of a Rooftop gem, one of our most guarded secrets. Trust us, no word can describe enough the feeling of having the whole Parisian sky in your eyesight.
2. Louvre Museum:
How could we not mention most magnificent museum of all? There is so much more about Louvre than just home to Mona Lisa. The mix between the modern (the pyramids) and the historic (the buildings) create such a unique background.
Surprisingly, people normally miss out on the gorgeous hallway next to Café Marly. Its stunning architecture definitely makes it among the ideal photo locations for your engagement or wedding in Paris. We highly recommend you to come on a Tuesday as the museum is closed and there are fewer people around.
3. Jardin des Tuileries
This is where you often find Parisians sitting by the ponds, reading books, or just simply sunbathing. Grab yourselves a pair of chairs and a newspaper/book. That’s all you need to take the most Instagrammable photos like real Parisians. Besides, what makes this place a beautiful Paris location for photo are the iconic tree lines view with the Louvre building framed in the back.
4. Seine river bank
Much to your surprise, The Seine flows throughout the city and there are hence so many spots along the river bank to capture your wedding and engagement photos. Our recommendations are places near Pont Des Arts and Pont Neuf, the two aesthetic bridges where you can make use of the incredible background above the water. On the other hand, hidden locations like Square du Vert-Galant or Place Dauphine would create such local vibes for your Paris photo session as well!
5. Ile Saint Louis
Île means Island in English and, believe it or not, there are literally islands in the middle of Paris. Embraced by The Seine, Île Saint Louis is a petite island which is perfect for a day-time visit, as well as in the evening thanks to its romantic and intimate atmosphere. Parisians often come here for a drink to admire the incredible sunset on The Seine. It is a totally lovely spot for your picnic shoot!
You can also enjoy a short getaway from the hectic streets with a long stroll along the quai with your beloved partner. There are some nice spots around for you to visit as well, such as Place Louis Aragon or Louis Philippe Bridge.
6. Montmartre
Montmartre is one of the few places that you can adore the panoramic view of Paris from high above. Besides, we would love to get lost and wander around the hill with our dear clients to discover the charming artistic alleys & hidden staircases right around the foothill. So many corners, so many places to discover will make you feel reborn in the city of artists. Insider’s tip: go behind Sacre Coeur and just get lost!
7. Galerie Vivienne:
This 200-year-old arcade is one of those covered passages not to miss when you visit Paris. Here you can admire the colorful mosaics on the ground, crafted by the genius Giandomenico Facchina. In between are dozens of lovely clothing stores with all luxurious brands and also vintage bookstores. The facades will certainly draw your attention at the very first glance. A tip from us: check out the window of the Gribaudo Paul bookstore and you may find the cute famous piglets. Seize the opportunity to create such a unique photo!
8. Top of Galerie Lafayette
People know about Galerie Lafayette as the paradise for fashion enthusiasts with all the most famous brands. However, little do they know that there is actually the so-called Heaven on Earth right at the rooftop of the building. Here is one of the few free-access places to admire the famous Parisian rooftop views. We wholeheartedly recommend you to pay a visit at the sunset hours to make the most of the adorable landscape. If you’re doing a multi-hour wedding photoshoot, it’s really worth it!
9. Parisian streets
What makes Paris unique is also its streets with spectacular architecture, filled with history and charm. We’d recommend checking out Avenue Montaigne, Rue de Rivoli, and feel free to get lost in any street in Ile Saint Louis! Don’t forget to take photos while crossing the street!
10. Parisian cafes
We cannot conclude our blog post without mentioning the heart and soul of many Parisians – the cafes. Although literally every cafes in Paris can be the perfect location for photos, our favourites are Cafe de Flore, Lex Deux Magots, and any cafes that we can shoot “through the glass”.
We hope that after checking out our top photo locations for your Paris engagement or wedding, you will immediately pin down Paris as your next destination. We’re so excited to meet you and capture your moments in the city of love!
